Bio
Robert J. Bannon is a writer, a speaker and a dedicated book coach. He has committed this decade of his life to exploring, envisioning, articulating and improving his world.

Bob is a product of the Baby Boom that started after the end of the second world war. He came of age during the sixties with the musical influence of Motown and the surfin' scene. Living in the age of Aquarius spawned and motivated his existential search for the meaning of life - a search that continues today through his writing. His lifelong love affair with the written word began with a cereal box on the breakfast table and is now fed by the ocean of information available online as he constantly hunts for cutting edge knowledge with a sharp eye for common sense wisdom.

His life experiences have created a unique view of the world and of our place in it. He left Southern Ontario in his early twenties and spent seven years on the West Coast before moving to Winnipeg for 10 years where he met his wife. A move to Calgary was followed by the birth of their two children and eventually, the realization that writing was becoming a major passion for him. He draws upon his own history, adventures, mistakes and enlightenment to infuse his writing and speaking with encouragement and insight.

In 1981 Bob passed through Check Point Charlie to witness the destruction of the human spirit behind the Iron Curtain and emerged with a heightened and deeply committed appreciation for the value of freedom in every aspect of life. He backpacked the West Coast Trail in his mid-fifties which propelled him to share his experience in the written word. His first book THE WEST COAST TRAIL: One Step at a Time reflects the adventure and challenge that confirms the power of possibility for he and his readers.Soon after, he wrote an autobiographical account of adoption called MY SECRET MOTHER and it continues to inspire his search, one that we all share, for our roots. He has released a book dedicated to emerging writers, THE ONE HOUR AUTHOR: non-fiction book writing for busy people, that shows anyone how they can realize their own dream of being a published author, simply, clearly and easily.

Bob has surfed in Hawaii, snorkeled in the Sea of Cortez, spoken to audiences as large as 5000, created and managed an annual memorial hockey tournament, golfs enthusiastically, writes a regular blog, has been awarded a bronze medal in an international wine making competition and continually indulges his passion for travel. He won a best actor award, an Outstanding Jaycee award and several other citations for his efforts. He continues to push himself to reveal his own truth while inviting everyone he meets to join him on the path to discovery.
